Many fires broke out in the city due to Russian shelling.

On the night of May 24, Russian occupiers carried out a massive strike on Kyiv , resulting in fires in the city and damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports .

Due to enemy shelling in the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out on the roof of a two-story dormitory with an approximate area of 150 sq. m. Rescuers are evacuating residents and extinguishing the fire.

“In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out on the second floor of a school with an area of 300 sq m due to an attack. In a 5-story residential building, destruction occurred within the entrance with a fire from the 1st to the 5th floors. A hit was recorded in the building of a business center and a fire in the market area. In another 9-story residential building, there was a hit between the 8th and 9th floors, where a person previously died,” the message added.

According to rescuers, a fire was also extinguished in the district on the 2nd floor of a 9-story residential building with an area of 5 sq. m. The building of the museum of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region was also destroyed.

“In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out in a private residential building and on the territory of a garage cooperative. In the Desnyanskyi district, a shopping center and a supermarket building were hit. Five garage boxes caught fire on the territory of a garage cooperative. In the Svyatoshynskyi district, a fire was reported on a 9-story residential building,” the State Emergency Service noted.https://t.me/uniannet/192163?embed=1

At the same time, in the Solomyanskyi district, a minor fire and destruction of structures occurred on an area of 5 sq. m on the 23rd floor of a 24-story residential building.

“With improvised means, firefighters extinguished the fire on an area of 1 sq. m. There are also reports of damage to warehouses in the industrial zone,” the report emphasized.

According to preliminary data, a residential building is on fire in the Obolonsky district at one address, and at another, firefighters are extinguishing a fire in a 16-story skyscraper at the level of floors 12-13. In addition, a fire broke out in a construction hypermarket.

“In the Pechersk district, a fire broke out on the 13th floor of a 20-story new building and a 10 sq. m. cabin located nearby is on fire. Information about victims or injured is being clarified,” the State Emergency Service added.

Updated 08:07. The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers continue to work at the sites of Russian attacks on the city’s civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. In total, calls to 101 were received about fires and destruction at more than 40 locations in all districts of the capital.

“In particular, in the Shevchenko district, the Russians hit a 5-story residential building. There was destruction and a fire broke out from the 1st to 5th floors. Unfortunately, 1 person was found dead and 3 people were injured. The firefighting operation is ongoing,” the press service added.
