About 200 police officers, investigators and SOBR fighters conducted searches on February 8 at more than 60 addresses in St. Petersburg, where housing and communal services, road enterprises and their numerous contractors are located, Fontanka reported.
According to preliminary information, searches are carried out due to poor-quality snow removal, RIA Novosti reports citing a source. According to Fontanka sources, all searches are carried out in various criminal cases related to the economic activities of organizations or injuries resulting from poor-quality snow removal.
The prosecutor’s office of St. Petersburg reported that the searches were carried out as part of criminal cases “on the facts of embezzlement of funds by organizations involved in cleaning the city from snow and ice.”
