Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar called statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Ukraine allegedly does not control the defense forces as a marker of Russia’s fear.
She stated this on the air of the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel.
In particular, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, commenting on an interview with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in which he stated that Ukraine allegedly does not control the defense forces and former volunteer battalions on the line of contact, noted that Ukraine constantly faces information provocations from the Russian Federation.
“As for the groups that allegedly are not under the control of our army, we do not have such groups,” he said.

“All people are in their places and to assume that supposedly we have Nazi battalions that are not controlled, this is the favorite mantra of the Russian Federation, they constantly throw it into the media,” Danilov said.
At the same time, Malyar stressed that all paramilitary units on the line of contact are fully controlled.
“Regarding Mr. Lavrov’s statement, this is for me a marker of the Russian Federation’s fear that not only the military, but also, according to polls, the majority of Ukrainian citizens are ready today to defend our state,” she said.
Maliar said that she spent the last week on the line of contact.
According to her, “there is no panic there, there is panic in our smartphones.”
“And there will be no 2014, there will be no such scenario for the Russian Federation. There will be completely different losses and it will be much more difficult,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Territorial defense in Ukraine: what is known
