The law comes into force immediately after the president’s signature, and the authority to allocate weapons to Ukraine immediately comes into effect.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova does not rule out that the first package of American weapons, after approval in Congress, could arrive in Ukraine as early as April.

As Markarova stated in an interview with European Pravda, she hopes that the procedure for adopting a bill on assistance to Ukraine will be completed as quickly as possible and President Joe Biden will immediately sign it. The law comes into force immediately and the authority to allocate weapons to Ukraine immediately comes into effect.

“I will say more, Ukraine and the United States are actively working on these packages, not stopping even when there were no such powers. Therefore, I think that this will be very quickly,” the ambassador noted.

Answering a clarifying question, Markarova added: “We won’t even rule out April.”

    • Oops, her name is Markarova. Not disrespect intended. She ain’t small, but a grown up lady, a renowned financial expert. I just happen to think that Ukraine needs a different ambassador to the US, with better communication skills. And additional lobbyists in support. To actively counter ruSSian influencing there is highly important! 🤨

  1. Storm Shadows Head to Ukraine as Ally Commits 1,600 Missiles in New Aid

The U.K. will supply Ukraine with additional long-range Storm Shadow missiles as Western countries pledge fresh military aid to Kyiv ahead of an anticipated Russian summer offensive.

The British government said on Tuesday it would commit its largest-ever tranche of military aid to Ukraine, worth £500 million ($622 million). The package includes more than 1,600 strike and air defense missiles, as well as further deliveries of Storm Shadow air-launched precision-guided missiles, vessels and vehicles, the British defense ministry said.

    • So far, the new UK package looks stronger than the US one. But I hope this simply is a communication issue and that after the long break of 6 months, Washington will do its best to impress Ukraine and the world. Their deliveries need to include several Patriot batteries, dozens of Bradleys, more M109s and Himars, ATACMs and JDAMs, and lots of ammunition of all kinds. And while they’re at it, why not put a dozen F-16s on top? 🤔
