Information about the upcoming operation was accidentally leaked online at the preparation stage.

The unsuccessful operation of Russian troops to attempt to send a group of soldiers into the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces via a disused gas pipeline is acquiring new details.

Russian military bloggers report that only part of the group died from Ukrainian fire, while others simply suffocated.

Thus, Russian propagandist Vladimir Romanov, who runs a Z-public on Telegram with 140 thousand subscribers, claims that the idea of sending a group of soldiers through a gas pipeline arose from the experience of fighting in Avdiivka a year ago. Then the Russians managed to pull off a similar trick.

“The unit said that they had prepared everything: ventilation, settling tanks, water and provisions, communications, etc. But it turned out that they hadn’t prepared everything. Everyone on the ground knows the result. The question is – will there be a charge for those who suffocated?” Romanov writes, adding that back then in Avdiivka, everything also didn’t go as well as Russian propaganda says.

As Russian opposition blogger Yan Matveyev writes , information about the upcoming “pipeline operation” was unintentionally leaked to the public domain by a Russian drone operator with the pseudonym “Moses”. On March 1, he published a request in his Telegram channel for urgent help with the delivery of oxygen cylinders.

How Russians walked through pipes

UNIAN previously reported that on Saturday morning, March 8, about a hundred Russian soldiers crossed a non-functioning gas pipeline to reach the rear of the Defense Forces soldiers in the Sudzha area. However, this daring maneuver by the enemy did not come as a surprise to the Ukrainian defenders. The operation was known in advance.

Given the limited logistics, the Ukrainian fighters did not have the opportunity to simply blow up the pipe, so they decided to wait for the Russians to pass through it and walk straight into a trap, where they were eventually caught by Ukrainian artillery.
