Taco’s house of cards, like any other house of cards, is very vulnerable to a gust of air. The Epstein files are this gust. Anyone who is not voting to release those files is politically dead. Mike Johnson is already there with his cheap delay tactics, swearing in Arizona Rep. Adelita Grijalva after 50 days. I think there are many in the Taco administration who are getting very cold feet. Surely, their futures are going to be in rough waters.
Keep in mind, Epstein was arrested during the Trump administration and during 4 years of Biden, you Lefties didn’t give a hoot about Epstein. Where was the interest then? By the way, both sides would like to release the documents and the Republicans already released 23,000 committee documents, the Democrats, just leaked 3. This is another example why it is important to be fair, let the courts work and don’t come to conclusions until you have the facts, Facts 🙂
I’d agree Sir Red about waiting until all the facts are in. However as I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been sitting on the sidelines but with so much smoke rationally I think there is a fire. Indeed I’m curious why the docs haven’t been released as it was a Trump election promise but suspiciously abandoned his promise, curiously, after he had a chance to read those files.
Final note, Sir OFP doesn’t need to be defended but to suggest Sir OFP is a “leftie” is IMHO just wrong. He has many times declared himself a Reagan Republican, as
I have, but feels the current occupant doesn’t carry the basic human or moral values needed by a president of the US, which I wholeheartedly agree.
Everyone’s opinion is welcome but people (like MSNBC) can’t manufacture their own facts. I think both sides are waiting for the courts to decide if they can/will release the grand jury documents which are traditionally secret because they only come from one side (prosecution) and that’s not necessarily fair. But, since the Epstein creep is dead, that might not matter. I always try to be on the side of fairness.
Trump and Bondi were trying to gaslight you into believing they were trying to turn over the Epstein files. The request to unseal grand jury files from Maxwell’s sex trafficking case was always a red herring: Grand jury testimony from the Ghislaine Maxwell case won’t include anything relating to any other people involved in the sex trafficking ring.
What people want released is *all* the Epstein files (with only the names of the victims and images of abuse redacted).
You know – the ones that Pam Bondi told trump back in May that his name was all over…
Judge Paul Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York called out the Department of Justice for misleading the public about what the files would reveal. “Its entire premise-that the Maxwell grand jury materials would bring to light meaningful new information about Epstein’s and Maxwell’s crimes, or the Government’s investigation into them-is demonstrably false,” he wrote, and pointed out that the material is already almost all public.
“A member of the public, appreciating that the Maxwell grand jury materials do not contribute anything to public knowledge, might conclude that the Government’s motion for their unsealing was aimed not at ‘transparency’ but at diversion-aimed not at full disclosure but at the illusion of such,” he wrote.
I’m glad that at least you remembered me being a Reagan Republican, Sir, Cap.
Under Biden, we had an independent Justice Department.
“Republicans released” / “Democrats leaked” – speaking of “important to be fair”…
We know that nothing would have been released by the Republicans if the Democrats hadn’t started to release documents. And they’re releasing a large batch at once so people can’t focus on any one document.
“let the courts work” – This isn’t in the courts – the documents are held by trump’s FBI and DOJ, who are intent on burying this.
“both sides would like to release the documents” – not exactly. The Democrats want to release the documents. The QANON nuts also want to release them, believing it will show Democrats to be running a sex-trafficking ring. But many Republicans are doing everything they can to block release of the documents, in order to protect their pedophile-in-chief.
Speaking of being fair – did you notice that in the latest files released, Esptein wrote: “these stories are complete and utter fantasy, I don’t know and have never met Al Gore, Clinton was never on the island.”
A desperate attempt to save his sorry ass.
The Dems didn’t release, or in this case, leak, documents until last week. And they had 4 long years to do something but didn’t. Naturally you didn’t address that part of the equation…
I’ve addressed it repeatedly, but you ignore anything that doesn’t align with your MAGA delusions.
Once again:
Biden didn’t run a cult. He let the DOJ operate independently – unlike Trump, who demands loyalty oaths and treats every agency like his personal operatives.
And no Democrat ran on a platform promising to release the Epstein files. Trump did. Then blocked them.
“in this case, leak”
Once again you’re proving that your “fairness” is a sham. It wasn’t a leak. They publicly released the documents. Here’s the press release.

I just saw an answer to this from reporter Julie K. Brown, who has been covering the Epstein story for years, responding to Stephen A. Smith’s performative outrage about why Democratss (and some Republicans) have made releasing the files an issue:
(@jkbjournalist on ‘X’)
This is a complicated case, with a LOT of files, so I know it’s easy to confuse what’s what. What Stephen doesn’t understand is that the emails released Wednesday are from Epstein’s estate. They were obtained from Epstein’s lawyers pursuant to a subpoena that was issued by the House Oversight Committee (lawmakers). These documents are separate from the criminal case files held by the DOJ and the FBI that Trump and Bondi promised to release after the election.
As for why Biden and the Democrats didn’t release the criminal case files — Maxwell’s criminal case was still OPEN during the Biden administration. She wasn’t convicted until late 2021, and then she appealed her conviction. Generally, it’s not a good idea to open your evidence files when a criminal case is ongoing. We also don’t know whether the FBI was *still* investigating other possible suspects who helped Epstein or participated in his crimes. If you are still targeting suspects, you don’t want them to know you are zeroing in on them.
Don’t call me a lefty. You know very well that I’m a conservative and a former Republican. And I know why neither the Dems nor the Reps wanted to release the files. It’s obvious that you will find child rapists from both parties in them. But, I said this before, haven’t I?! And I also said that it is very likely others are involved in these despicable crimes, from Hollywood, the music industry, captains of industry, bankers, and so on.
Anyway, I will wait and see what the files reveal. I hope that anyone involved will get prosecuted. Unfortunately, in a corrupt land, hope is all I have that this will happen.
