According to the military, the Russians are simply leaving their men to die on the battlefield.
Russia miscalculated when, in the first years of the full-scale invasion, it sent all its medium and light armored vehicles to the assault, which burned down there, so now the Russian army has nothing to transport and evacuate people. This was stated by military blogger, sniper and aerial reconnaissance officer, sergeant of the 59th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Karpyuk (Serg Marco) in an interview with Radio Liberty .

“Currently, they (the Russians – UNIAN) are faced with a situation where they simply have nothing to transport and evacuate people. A lot of infantry is stupidly storming on foot. These infantrymen are attacking, getting wounded, and there is nothing to evacuate them with, because the same MT-LB (Soviet multi-purpose light armored personnel carrier tractor – UNIAN) are physically exhausted. Because there are very few BMP (infantry fighting vehicle – UNIAN) left. In addition, in the current conditions, it is desirable that it is not an ordinary evacuation vehicle, but some kind of assault vehicle, hung with electronic warfare equipment,” the military added.
According to Karpyuk, this is why the Russians are simply throwing people on the battlefield.
“For this reason, we have recently seen a lot of “self-defense” videos in the Russian army. Because the people who go there are directly told: “we will not evacuate you,”” the sniper noted.
The aerial reconnaissance officer added that the occupiers understand that if they are injured, it will most likely be fatal.
“Russian military commanders themselves write that the ratio of losses has changed a lot this year. If according to the old military standards it was approximately 1 to 3, 1 to 4, that is, dead to wounded, now it is 1 to 1. Because no one will drag the wounded 10 kilometers on their shoulders under drones. This is their situation. Because the Soviet equipment in the warehouses has started to run out, and they cannot close the hole in the evacuation vehicles and, most likely, it will soon be the same with the assault equipment,” the soldier noted.
Karpyuk also commented on one of the last massive Russian assaults in the Zaporizhia direction, where a battalion tactical group and 40 pieces of equipment were destroyed. The journalist asked the military man why the occupiers had returned to massive attacks, to which he replied:
“I think it was a kind of reconnaissance by combat, because they didn’t think that everything was so closely monitored there. They understand where each of our units is, what their real combat capability is. The enemy’s reconnaissance works quite well. They know that the front line there is quite stable. There haven’t been any hellish battles here since our counteroffensive.”
The aerial reconnaissance officer added that for the Russian Federation, Orikhov is an important logistical hub, as many roads converge there.
“If they had occupied that area, we would have had a lot of problems. On paper, such an operation, of course, had a chance of success. But it didn’t happen as expected. Tokmak and the surrounding areas are under increased surveillance by our aerial reconnaissance. This system was built back in the winter, when the weather was bad and when you had a conditional hour to scout the situation and add new data to the system. And you just flew into the clouds at a low altitude, hoping that by the time you arrived, the clouds would have lifted, you would have collected all the necessary information and returned,” the military man noted.
Karpyuk emphasized that in the winter, Ukrainian fighters worked in very difficult conditions in this direction, but the Russians were waiting for good weather.
“And here they sat out until summer, when the weather is normal, when the wings fly constantly, when reconnaissance continues 24/7, and decided that they would succeed now? Well, no, it doesn’t work that way. This is a perfect example of how “Soviet” algorithms for waging war collide with modern reality,” the aerial reconnaissance officer explained.
