Major General Valery Plokhotnyuk was buried in Moscow. According to Russian sources, he died on August 1, the day of the explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant.

As reported by Censor.NET , this was reported by the Russian publication “Mediazona” with reference to the Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” and data from state registers of the Russian Federation .

According to the “VChK-OGPU”, Plokhotnyuk died in an explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow on August 1. “Mediazona” notes that it checked the state registers of the Russian Federation and confirmed only the fact that the major general died on this very day. There is currently no official confirmation of the causes of his death.

Valery Plokhotnyuk’s funeral took place on August 5 at the Troyekurovsky Cemetery in Moscow.

According to Russian sources, Plokhotniuk received the rank of Major General in 2021. At that time, he held the position of Chief of Staff of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation. Earlier, in 2011, he was appointed head of the operational group of Russian troops in the unrecognized Transnistria.
