A large fire broke out at the Antipinsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Tyumen region on June 6, according to videos and reports published by local Telegram channels and Russian media.

The fire occurred at the Antipinsky refinery, one of Russia’s largest privately owned oil processing facilities. Footage circulating online showed thick smoke rising above the industrial site, visible from multiple parts of Tyumen.

According to local reports, the blaze may have originated at one of the refinery’s processing units. Russian media cited preliminary information suggesting the fire was linked to a technological malfunction during operations.

Emergency services were dispatched to the site, and the incident was assigned a high emergency response category due to its location within a major industrial facility.

At the time of publication, there were no official reports indicating that the refinery had been targeted by drones or other external attacks. Local authorities and emergency services had not released detailed information regarding the cause of the incident.

The Antipinsky Oil Refinery is a significant asset within Russia’s oil refining sector. The facility has a reported processing capacity of more than 9 million metric tons of crude oil annually and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products primarily for the domestic Russian market.

Earlier, The Moscow Times reported that fuel shortages and gasoline rationing had spread to at least 20 regions across Russia and Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine following a series of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries.

The restrictions included purchase limits at gas stations in Moscow, St. Petersburg, occupied Crimea, and several other regions, highlighting growing pressure on Russia’s fuel supply network.
