One of the world’s largest container carriers, Maersk, is temporarily suspending service to Ukraine through the “Black Sea” fishing port (CRP). 

This was reported by Maersk Ukraine.

The decision was made due to increased Russian attacks on port infrastructure.

AP Moller – Maersk  is a Danish company, one of the world’s largest container shipping and logistics operators.

The group operates in over 130 countries worldwide and owns hundreds of specialized vessels that provide a significant share of global maritime trade.

What will happen to imported goods?

All import shipments that were supposed to go to the port of Chornomorska are being redirected to the Romanian port of Constanta.

Vessel MEDKON MIRA V.629S – redirected to Constanta. Cargoes in Port Said (Egypt) – all shipments with a final destination in Chornomorsk, currently in or expected in Egypt, will also be directed to Romania.

If the port of Constanta does not suit the recipient, customers can request a change of destination (COD) .

The company will agree on the options and conditions for further delivery of goods from Romania to Ukraine with clients individually.

Conditions for exporters

For customers who have booked export shipments from the port of Chornomorsk, Maersk offers several options:

1. Free cancellation or changes to bookings (no penalties).
2. Change of loading port from Chornomorsk to Constanta with preservation of the current sea freight rate (for containers already accepted at the terminal).

The company emphasized that all requests for cancellations or changes must be coordinated directly with a Customer Service representative.

Making changes through the website yourself may result in automatic fines.

Maersk resumed full-fledged sea container service to the ports of the Odessa region only in the summer of 2024 thanks to the work of the Ukrainian sea corridor.

Ukrainian exports

As previously reported, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian seaports have already processed 40 million tons of cargo , more than half of which (more than 20 million tons) is agricultural products.

Recall that since its launch in 2023, as of early June 2026, 200 million tons of cargo have been transported through the Ukrainian sea corridor , of which 118 million tons are grain products.

It was also reported that in less than six months of this year, Ukraine has agreed on 23 new directions and trade conditions for exporting products. Thus, this is already more than in the entire year of 2025, when 22 new markets were opened.

Port development

It was previously reported that the world’s largest container carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) acquired a 51% stake in the TIS container terminal, which is part of the largest private stevedoring group in Ukraine.
