In January, Ukraine’s defense forces eliminated 1.5 times more soldiers from the occupying army than Russia was able to recruit.
This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert ‘Madyar’ Brovdi.
According to him, during January 2026, the Russians replenished the ranks of their army with 22,000 new fighters, while according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 31,700 people.
“For the second time since the invasion in 2022, the enemy has suffered more losses in manpower than it has mobilized,” Madyar said.
The Ukrainian General Staff noted that this is the result of combat operations, which have significantly reduced the offensive capabilities of the Russian occupation army.

In January, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the Russian army loses between 20,000 and 25,000 soldiers every month in the war against Ukraine.
He emphasized that this refers specifically to Russian military personnel killed in action, not those wounded or temporarily disabled.
As a reminder, an investigation by the publication Verstka revealed that Russian orphans are effectively being forced to go to war by linking the state-guaranteed right to housing to participation in combat operations against Ukraine.
In some cases, officials openly state that the apartment will be given to a “participant in the special military operation,” even if another orphan has a court decision giving them priority.

These are good figures. Let’s get it to double or even triple what they can recruit.
Yeah, that’s a good start, for I’m sure that Madyar and his awesome team will aim for more. Pun intended.
