Macron explains why Lukashenka is not on the EU sanctions list

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Alexander Lukashenko is not on the EU sanctions list, as this would mean refusing to dialogue with Belarus.

He said this at a briefing following the first day of the EU summit.

According to Macron, the EU plans to start a dialogue with Belarus through the OSCE.

In addition, he called on Lukashenka on behalf of the EU to take measures to build confidence and release political prisoners, especially former presidential candidates.

The French President added that if Lukashenka refuses to dialogue, sanctions may also be imposed on him.

Earlier it was reported that the European Union had agreed on sanctions against Belarus due to the falsification of the presidential elections and the massive dispersal of protests.

40 people were included in the sanctions list, Alexander Lukashenko was not on it.

On September 3, Alexander Lukashenko was sworn in as President of Belarus for a new term . At the same time, the inauguration ceremony was not announced.

A number of countries, including Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Poland, the USA and Canada, recognized Lukashenko as illegitimate. Ukraine has also stated that the “inauguration” of Alexander Lukashenko does not make him a legitimate president .Read also:  Britain and Canada imposed sanctions against Lukashenka, his son and a number of security officials

Anti-government protests in Belarus erupted after the August 9 presidential elections. The Belarusians consider the election results to be falsified and demand new, fair and transparent elections.

The Belarusian dictator rejected any concessions and attempts to dialogue with the protesters, repeatedly stating that Belarus’s western neighbors are behind the wave of protests.

May, if? What about will, or your shithole country will be destroyed economically? This Macron is more of a Russian puppet than I first thought, he’s full blown traitor to democracy.
