Lukoil expects to stop oil refineries in Russia due to the surplus of oil products.
According to “Kommersant”, this is stated in a letter from the chairman and co-owner of the company Vagit Alekperov to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, reports enkorr.
Due to the imposed anti-Russian sanctions, “there was a sharp decline in the volume of fuel oil shipments and, as a result, the formation of excess fuel in storage.” Due to this, there is a risk of shutting down the refinery, which will reduce fuel production, the letter said.
To avoid a possible stoppage of production, Lukoil offered to temporarily redirect volumes of fuel oil as fuel to the CHP. This will be a compulsory measure, as fuel oil is usually used if there are interruptions in the supply of gas, or the limits of its consumption are exhausted.
Lukoil owns four refineries in Russia and is the second largest oil refiner in Russia after Rosneft. Джерело: https://biz.censor.net/n3332143
