Loud explosions occurred in Kyiv: a high-rise building is on fire

Air defense is working over the city. Eyewitnesses report a series of loud explosions.

On the morning of Wednesday, February 7, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles. Several Ukrainian cities, in particular Kyiv, were under attack.

Capital public accounts report the sounds of explosions in Kyiv and the region. According to eyewitnesses, a series of explosions were heard in the capital.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko subsequently confirmed the information. According to him, air defense is operating in Kyiv. 

“Explosions in the city. Air defense is working. Stay in shelters!” Klitschko noted.

At the same time, the air force reports that Russian missiles continue to move towards Kiev. Another group of missiles is maneuvering over the Khmelnitsky and Lviv regions.

Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak added that air defense is actively working. Now it’s worth staying in shelters.

Updated at 7:43 am. An explosion occurred again in Kyiv. Mayor Klitschko called for people to be in shelters before the end of the alarm.

Meanwhile, the Air Force announced the movement of missiles from the south towards the capital. Currently, a high-speed rocket is flying to Kyiv.

Updated at 7:52 am. Klitschko noted that after the explosion in Kiev, doctors were called to the Dnieper region. More details later.

At the same time, the capital’s public accounts report smoke in one of the city’s districts.

Updated at 8:01 am. According to KMVA, as a result of a missile attack on Kiev, debris was recorded falling in the Dnieper district of the capital. Emergency services are sent to the scene of the incident.

Klitschko said that as a result of the attack on the capital, two high-voltage lines were damaged by rocket debris. Some consumers on the left bank are without electricity.

The mayor also noted that as a result of the Russian attack, there was a casualty in the Dnieper region. Paramedics treated him on the spot.

Updated at 8:09 am. Klitschko noted that the fire and rescue unit was heading to the Goloseevsky district, where the building had previously caught fire.

Updated at 8:29 am. In the Goloseevsky district, a high-rise building is on fire as a result of an enemy attack. There are now two victims in the Dnieper district of the capital. Doctors treated them on the spot.

Klitschko also said that cars and service station premises were burning in the Goloseevsky district. All services are in place. There have been no calls to doctors yet.

Also, according to the mayor, the heating main on the left bank of the capital was damaged. Experts will determine the extent of the damage and begin repair work immediately.

Updated at 8:38 am. At least three people are known to have been injured as a result of an enemy attack in the Goloseevsky district of the capital. As Klitschko noted , they were hospitalized.

  1. Updated at 8:56 am. As Klitschko clarified , emergency services are extinguishing a fire in an 18-story building in the Goloseevsky district, as well as in a service station building.

    “In general, there were six casualties in the capital as a result of the enemy attack. Three were in the Dnieper district, two of them were hospitalized. And three were taken to the hospital from the Goloseevsky district,” the mayor noted.

  3. Is this the result of Ukraine running out of AA missiles? If so, then that’s blood on the hands of US Rethuglucans, who prevent further deliveries! May they all burn in hell.
