Open data even now allows drawing a number of important conclusions

Comparison of the losses of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation based on data from both sides.
On September 24, the Twitter channel Killed in Ukraine, which records the losses of the Russian Armed Forces, and the Russian Telegram channel Lostarmour, which is the structure of Russian military propaganda, published data on the losses of officers on both sides, which became known through open sources, award decrees, that is the publication of obituaries in the media and social media, and can be accurately verified.
So, seven months period of the war:
Military formations of Ukraine lost 1178 officers of all ranks.
Military formations of the Russian Federation lost 1210 officers of all ranks.
Of course, these lists are clearly not complete. Ukraine considers the losses of the enemy, but all the losses of our dead heroes are published almost in full, in large part the losses are confirmed by the lists of award decrees.
Russia, in turn, does not publish information about the losses in full, even in social networks, most of the awards are made by closed decrees.
Nevertheless, open data even now allows drawing a number of important conclusions.
1. Official data on the losses of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is unreliable. Defence Minister Shoigu announced the loss of 5,937 servicemen in 7 months, which gives an approximate ratio of the loss of officers and soldiers as 1:5. The losses among officers are too high in relation to the total number of dead. For comparison, according to published Ukrainian data on total losses of about 10 thousand people, the ratio of officers to privates is at least 1:10.
2. The total losses of Russia are much higher and not published in full, since information about the losses of the occupying troops of the “L/DPR” are considered to be “allies” losses. The so-called Ministry of Defence of the DPR reported that during the hostilities, losses amounted to 3242 people in 7 months. The figure is unofficial, not verified in any way, and there is no even approximate information on the number of officers.
The “LPR” does not publish information about the losses at all, although there are no fewer losses there, and the forced mobilization was total. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declares the total losses of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in all formations of about 60,000 people.
3. Contrary to the propaganda of the Russian General Staff, the losses of the Russian army are not only not inferior to the Ukrainian ones, but judging by the open verifiable information, they are significantly superior. Now the generals will cover the problem of the low combat capability of the Russian professional army with mountains of mobilized bodies.

True casualty rates are most difficult to have, like in all wars, this one is no different. But, I’ve always tended to believe Ukrainian statistics. Mafia land has proven to be a land with full-blown liars and blatant deceptions. Okay, that’s all relative. But, looking at the two countries a bit closer reveals a lot about who is closer to the truth. Ukraine does not have a mobilization, while mafia land does. Ukraine does not press gangs large amounts of men into military service, which mafia land does. Mafia land has been looking for fresh meat puppets for months before it finally decided on mobilization. These factors are not solid proof, but they are important indicators.
At any rate, Ukraine’s successes are what counts, and they’ve been brilliant in the past several weeks. The cockroach army is standing on its proverbial last leg.
