The head of the Kremlin admitted that the country’s GDP growth this year will be lower than last year’s figure.

Vladimir Putin said that the Russian economy will inevitably cool down. At the same time, he pointed out that the Central Bank should make this process smooth in order to prevent hypothermia “like in a cryochamber.”

“Here, of course, we need to act very, very carefully. It is clear that this is inevitable (cooling of the economy, – UNIAN). Both the government and the Central Bank have generally spoken about this. In general, we have agreed that in practice everything should be as planned – so that there is no excessive cooling, like in a cryochamber. Everything should be done quietly,” Putin said at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

According to him, “we need to make sure that there is no collapse or excessive freezing.” He believes that the growth of the Russian economy this year, according to forecasts, could be 2-2.5%, and in 2024 this figure was at the level of 4.1%.

“It’s a delicate matter, but I hope it will work out,” the Russian dictator said.
