A charity event was held in the United States of America, which was an exhibition and auction of Ukrainian art. The event was held in support of Ukrainian children affected by the war. As a result, 1.3 million hryvnias were sent to BlueCheck Ukraine, an initiative of the famous American actor and director Liev Schreiber.
The organizers of the charity event informed OBOZ.UA about this. Those present had the opportunity to enjoy works of art, including works by Ukrainian artists from the Mriya gallery and Rukh art Hub, as well as private exhibits by Scott Baxter , who kindly provided his estate for the event. Among the works on display were masterpieces by such famous artists as Warhol, Rodin and Dali . The charity evening not only opened the world of Ukrainian culture to the guests, but also drew attention to important humanitarian needs.

Famous fashion designer and star of the Netflix show My Unorthodox life Julia Gaart gave a touching speech. The celebrity recalled how she was involved in delivering ambulances to Bakhmut, and noted the importance of supporting Ukraine in the fight for freedom. “There are moments when you realize that your place has more meaning,” Gaart noted. “The fight that is happening in Ukraine today is a fight for freedom, and it is our duty to stand with them!” She also purchased the first painting of the evening, “In Bloom No. 6,” by the Kiev artist Dasha S. Kandinskaya.

In turn, Liev Schreiber addressed the audience with gratitude, despite not being in the hall: “While I could not be there in person, your presence and your contributions mean everything to us. As Ukraine defends itself against Russia’s brutal and multifaceted assault, it is more important than ever to define and strengthen Ukrainian culture and identity. The best defense against any attempt at genocide is a broad sense of humanity and the culture at its core. They are simply fighting for the right to exist – to raise their children and their children’s children as Ukrainians.”

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that the famous musician and singer Elton John said that he was almost blind in one eye due to an infection. The star spoke about his health condition and how he is fighting the disease. Details are in our material.
