Now we know why the Republicans didn’t want him to testify.
Lev Parnas, the reformed convicted former Trump associate who worked hand-in-glove with Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani to try to dig up “dirt” on the Bidens so that Trump could spread disinformation heading into the 2020 election, exposed the details of Trump’s scheme during another sham GOP hearing today about the Bidens.
Since his 2019 arrest, Parnas has come clean about his participation in these schemes with Donald Trump and has been an outspoken voice against Donald Trump’s corruption and lies. With his famous phrases “Lev Knows” and “Lev Remembers,” Parnas’ story has shed light on the inner-workings of the Trump operation and its collusion with foreign actors to try to conjure lies about the President.
Until today, Republicans have refused to let Parnas speak in these congressional hearings, and now we see why. In his opening remarks, Parnas completely demolished the entire Republican narrative, and exposed Donald Trump and his cohorts as perpetrators of one of the greatest frauds in history.
Parnas told the committee (clip above):
“The American people have been lied to by Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and various cohorts of individuals in government and media positions. They created falsehoods to serve their own interests, knowing it would undermine the strength of our nation. From November 2018 to October 2019, I was a key participant and a witness to numerous efforts to prove that Joe and Hunter Biden were linked to corruption in Ukraine. Rudy Giuliani, on behalf of then President Donald Trump tasked me with a mission to travel the globe, finding dirt on the Bidens so that an array of networks could spread misinformation about them, thus securing the 2020 election for Donald Trump.”
Parnas informed the committee that the source of the disinformation pushed about the Biden’s came from a singular source: Russia and Russian agents. After Parnas made this revelation, right wing propaganda network Fox immediately cut the feed to promote host Jessie Watters book.
Of course, the wannabe Republicans who adore the orange crook will not accept the truth that their master is … well, a damned crook. And, an anti-democratic traitor. He’s the worst possible choice for president. I want to see him in prison and to remain in prison so long until he leaves in a zinc coffin.
And, the wannabe Republican Congressmen who serve him should join him in prison.
He said this under testimony too. So if he is lying, he’s in the deep brown stuff, and facing 5 years in prison.
A close look at trump should reveal to anyone who is not as thick as a brick that this guy is a liar, a thief, a traitor, a semi-fascist, and a fucking coward, being a draft dodger to top it all.

We know that the “5 million bribe” was a lie – it was *proven* that it was a lie, and Alexander Smirnov admitted that he was passing along misinformation from Russian intelligence officials. We also know of crimes that Hunter Biden *did* commit. But they didn’t involve Joe, and Hunter Biden isn’t on the ballot. (And unlike his predecessor, President Biden didn’t bring family members into his administration.)

Some related information: A few days ago, Josh Dawsey of the Washington Post reported that Trump is turning to his 2016 campaign manager Paul Manafort to advise him in 2024. Dawsey notes that the campaign’s focus appears to be on the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July, which suggests Trump’s people are concerned that his nomination will be contested. Manafort has been known as a “convention fixer” since 1976.
Manafort is also the key link between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russian operatives. Manafort worked for many years for Ukrainian politician Viktor Yanukovich, who was closely tied to Russian president Vladimir Putin. When Ukrainians threw Yanukovich out of office in 2014, Manafort was left with large debts to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. In 2016, Manafort began to work for Trump’s campaign. In 2018, as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, Manafort was found guilty of hiding millions of dollars he had received for lobbying on behalf of Yanukovych and his pro-Russian political party, then getting loans through false financial records when Yanukovych lost power. A judge sentenced him to more than seven years in prison.
Trump pardoned Manafort in December 2020, shortly after losing the presidential election.
Parnas also testified:
“We cannot divorce the impact of this conspiracy from the Russia-Ukraine war, because Trump has no intention to keep aiding Ukraine. I told him in 2018, and I am telling all of you now, that without the support of the United States and NATO, Ukraine will not be able to withstand the barrage from the Russian Army.”

Of course we all have our political viewpoints. For example I am obviously a conservative Republican and in foreign policy a traditional Reaganite. I am not a big fan of Trump by any stretch.
Yes we are all frustrated by Congress and maybe it is totally ALL TRUMP’s Fault (although personally I believe there is plenty of bipartisan blame to go around for Ukraine’s current situation – for example the wishy washy support and decision making by Biden for the first year and a half and now the ridiculous delay in the Republican controlled House).
But how many of the articles and comments posted have to be extremely repetitive vindictive attacks on Trump,Trump, and more Trump followed by more attacks and slams on Republicans followed by libelous assertions that anyone who disagrees with what the President wants is automatically a commie stooge/Putin lover/Russia friendly etc etc.
We all like to vent, but how does focusing on attacking Trump and Republicans to score partisan political points on Ukraine Today actually help Ukraine?
