The Republican Party has sent a mixed message to Trump supporters.

Donald Trump’s PR people made a ridiculous mistake by inadvertently hinting at his long-standing ties to Russia. The US President was placed on a poster with an old Soviet car.

Thus, the official account of the US Republican Party on the X platform published a post with a short slogan “A big beautiful law will restore the former greatness of the American car”, referring to Trump’s law on reducing taxes for business, which was recently adopted.

But the most interesting thing about this publication was that under the caption they placed a portrait of Donald Trump against the background of a yellow car, which does not look like an American one at all.

Although the car is not shown in full, users easily identified the car depicted as a Soviet VAZ-2101 (known in the West as the Lada 1200), produced from 1970 to 1988 in Soviet Russia.

“So does the Republican Party admit that they are run by Russia if they used a Russian car?” one user wrote.

“Wow, how did you get to the point where Trump is next to a Soviet car? Delete this, it’s embarrassing,” wrote another.
