PARIS — The leftwing alliance in France is on course to win the most seats in a dramatic parliamentary election, dealing a blow to the far-right party of Marine Le Pen, according to early estimates.
Le Pen’s National Rally (RN) came top in the first round a week ago and was aiming to secure the most seats in France’s legislature for the first time in the party’s history. Nothing good for Ukraine there.
The leader of the leftist bloc : Jean-Luc Mélenchon, is a fucking tankie. May well turn out to be worse than Le Pen.
But, this sounds positive for Ukraine:

Looks good on paper, let’s hope it’s not all BS. At least the Kremlin can put their champagne back in the fridge and reflect on the money wasted supporting Le Pen..
I guess that’s the main thing.
Not really. Le Pen is not far right at all IMO. She’s far left with added racism; ie a national socialist. This leftist bloc will do nothing for Ukraine if it establishes a bridgehead in the govt.
I would say that the political spectrum is a circle.
Extreme left and extreme right are often very similar.

Nobody knows what moved Macron to initiate these elections at this time. He didn’t have to do this, and it was a huge gamble. With this foolish step, he nearly got the russian shit nuggets of the Le Pen party into power. The country, however, managed to unite against her and her neo-Nazis and pro-mafia land party. Either way, Macron has managed to weaken his position in France’s government.
