The largest Russian scientist in the field of hypersonic missiles , director of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Shiplyuk was arrested on charges of treason
This is reported by the Russian propaganda agencies TASS and RIA Novosti.
According to Vasily Fomin, scientific director of the institute, the physicist was placed in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow. He was charged with treason.

On June 27, Anatoly Maslov, the chief researcher of the institute, was detained. He is suspected of passing on information constituting a state secret related to hypersonic missiles.
On June 30, a Novosibirsk court arrested another scientist – Dmitry Kolker, an employee of the Institute of Laser Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He was charged with treason for allegedly collaborating with China’s security services. Kolker, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, died while being transferred from the pre-trial detention center.
As UNIAN wrote, during the events in honor of the naval forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin said that in the near future the Tsirkon hypersonic missile, which supposedly “has no analogues in the world,” will be delivered to the Navy. But even in Russian expert circles, there are more than strong doubts about the combat capability of Zircon.
