Today, October 1, 2022, the law on lend-lease for Ukraine, adopted in the United States , came into force

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk recalled this on Twitter .

“Today, the US law on lend-lease for Ukraine came into force. This means more weapons of different and high quality. Ukraine will definitely return all its territories,” Stefanchuk said.

Earlier it was reported that the first Lend-Lease weapons would arrive in Ukraine in mid-October.

What is Lend-Lease Law:

The Lend-Lease Act expands the powers of the US President in agreements on the supply of military assistance to Ukraine. In fact, it allows lending or leasing military equipment under simplified export control procedures.

It allows the White House to provide Ukraine with weapons, equipment, ammunition and dual-use products under an accelerated procedure, that is, without waiting for a special allocation of funds for this by the US Congress.

The last time the Lend-Lease program operated was during World War II, when American military aid was supplied to the opponents of Nazi Germany, primarily Great Britain and the USSR.

Lend-Lease for Ukraine:

On May 9, 2022, US President Joe  Biden signed the Lend-Lease Act  for Ukraine. The Ukrainian side will be able to rent military equipment and weapons, and pay for them after the victory over Russia, or simply give back the surviving equipment.

Experts are sure that  the Lend-Lease weapons that Ukraine will receive will radically change the balance of power. Therefore, now Moscow is trying to use the opportunity and seize even more territories in the Donbass.

UNIAN has already told what kind of support  Ukraine can count on from this Lend-Lease.

  1. I was hopeful at first, but under this program still needs the President’s approval. Want to make a bet on anything changing?

    • Not quite the same as WW2 version and yes needs a rubber stamp Sir CapW, but at very least a lot of red tape will be eliminated in getting Ukraine many items to drive the orcs into the ground and/or out of Ukraine.

        • There is good reason not to trust the Bidenov admin. Biden isn’t the man running things. His only worries is about a clean diaper (Napkin to you UK types), and the flavor of his ice cream or pudding cup. The people behind Biden are the ones running things and those people are utterly untrustworthy.
