According to Zakharova, the general was known to Ukrainian special services since his time working in the Minsk Contact Group.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukrainian special services may be involved in the murder of the Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Yaroslav Moskalyk.

This was stated by the spokeswoman of the department, Maria Zakharova. This is reported by Russian media.

According to her, Moskalyk was known to Ukrainian special services “since the days of working in the Minsk Contact Group and the “Normandy Format” to resolve the conflict in southeastern Ukraine.”

“If the investigation confirms the Ukrainian trail in this case, it will once again demonstrate to the world community the barbaric and treacherous nature of the Kyiv regime, which is betting on escalating the military confrontation with Russia and irresponsibly ignoring constructive proposals aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the conflict,” the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
