  1. Darin, Kryvyi Rih means curved horn and corresponds to Russian Krivoy Rog and the final h is probably pronounced as a kh as in Slovak, y of course is pronounced ee or ih (my way of writing a short i; it is _certainly_ not pronounced like eye). In passing, if a Russian word or name ends in oy, that syllable is accented. for example, the name Tolstoy, but the adjective tolstyj meaning fat or stout with, you guessed it, the accent back to the first syllable. So approximately: kree-vee reekh. Now you’re an expert. Yeah, again in passing, this would be krivy roh [rokh] in Slovak and kriwy ro’g [krivy rook] in Polish.

  2. Magyar means Hungarian in Hungarian and is pronounced Madyar, honest to God, it is, or more closely MUD yar.

  3. Thanks for the update prof and maximum respect to his friend Jake Broe, who just raised his third $1 million for Ukraine.
Ukraine need some very serious help now. This spring/summer offensive has been known about for some time.
It’s essential that the depraved savages are knocked right off balance.
This means deliveries of huge quantities of materiel like cluster munitions, artillery systems, ammo, long range missiles, mines, anti-tank systems, MLRS’s and everything else needed.
Allied troops need to be moving into Ukraine right now; the “ceasefire” is just more kremkrapp.
    Time to declare the NFZ.
