The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the resignation of Dmytro Kuleba from the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. People’s deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this in Telegram.

He noted that 240 People’s Deputies of Ukraine voted for this decision.

At the same time, Kuleba was not present at the time of his dismissal and did not make a report.

“The chairman said: ‘the minister is not absent for our reasons,'” Zhelezniak wrote .

On September 4, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, announced on the Facebook social network that the parliament had received a resignation letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Kuleba . The speaker of the parliament added that the statement will be considered at one of the upcoming plenary sessions.

At the same time, yesterday the Verkhovna Rada did not vote for Kuleba’s resignation . As People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak noted, the necessary 226 votes for resignation were probably not available, so the issue was postponed.

Among the candidates for the position of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is currently First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga. The candidacy of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should not be proposed by the parliamentary coalition, but, according to the legislation of Ukraine, by the President of Ukraine.

And, according to The Telegraph, Kuleba resigned after the failure with long-range missiles.

Dmytro Kuleba – what is known about him

Kuleba was born in 1981 in the city of Sumy. In 2003, he graduated with honors from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, majoring in International Law. Candidate of Law Sciences (2006).

From August 2019 to March 2020 – Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.

Since March 4, 2020, he has been appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
