Explosions rocked the Samara region of the Russian Federation on the night of June 10. Local authorities declared a “missile threat.”
Smoke rises over Samara after explosions: Russians claim Kuibyshev refinery is on fire, reports independent Russian publication ASTRA and Telegram channel Exilenova+.
What is known
The Samara region has been restless since last night. Towards morning, a “missile threat” was declared in the region – in addition to the already declared “danger from UAVs.”
The Governor of the Samara Region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, also announced the introduction of the “Carpet Plan” in the region.

Against this backdrop, explosions were heard in Samara, and the Russians began posting photos and videos online of smoke rising above the city. Judging by these footage, the Kuibyshev oil refinery was attacked.
“According to ASTRA’s analysis of eyewitness footage, the Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara has been attacked and is burning. This is one of the largest oil industry enterprises in the region, part of PJSC Rosneft,” Russian journalists noted.

Exilenova+ also wrote about the attack on this particular refinery.
“Samara, Samara region, the KNPP was attacked,” the message stated.

Later, the channel clarified that “numerous fire outbreaks” were visible on the territory of the plant.

The Kuibyshev refinery has been repeatedly attacked before. For example, after a “visit” by Ukrainian drones in March 2024, it became known that one of the installations was damaged, which led to the suspension of the production cycle.
Another attack occurred on the night of August 28, 2025. Several fires broke out. Oil refining facilities, fuel tanks, and pipelines were damaged. After the attack, the plant stopped working.
Also, the arrivals at the KNPZ were reported in January of this year. After the August attack, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the strikes on this refinery were carried out by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oils, solvents, in total – more than 30 types of petroleum products. The processing capacity is 7 million tons of oil per year,” the General Staff explained the choice of goal at the time.
As OBOZ.UA reported, according to satellite images, up to 15 tanks were damaged during recent Ukrainian strikes on an oil terminal in Novorossiysk.

How nice, mafia land is burning again.
