Moscow welcomed Donald Trump’s comments on Russia being “a war machine” that had defeated Napoleon and Hitler, but said it had reservations about the ex-president returning to the White House
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, was responding to a question about comments Trump said he made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone call last week.
“This is a war machine you’re facing. That’s what they [the Russians] do they fight wars. They beat Hitler. They beat Napoleon. We got to get this war over with,” Trump told Mr Zelensky.
Mr Peskov said that while it would be useful for an American audience to be aware of the “many glorious pages” in Russia’s history, he was under no illusions of what a new Trump presidency would look like.
“We have never worn and do not wear rose-coloured spectacles. [Trump] is a representative of the U.S. political elite, which is now all absolutely suffering from total anti-Russian sentiment,” said Mr Peskov.
“When he was president, under Trump, the Americans started this sanctions race, under Trump a huge number of sanctions were imposed against our country, and in this respect he is not much different for us from everyone else.
“Maybe he shows a little more political wisdom in terms of maintaining channels of dialogue. But de facto it does not have a special impact on anything, and we should be aware of that,” said Mr Peskov.

As anyone whose brain does not consist of plankton knows, the allies defeated hitler 1. NOT russia, which was an ally of naziism and still is now, with hitler 2 in charge.
FDR gave stalin $300 billion in today’s money. Not one penny was paid back.

The allies ended up as enablers for russia’s original plan ; concocted with Molotov-Ribbentrop, to take half of Europe.
This latest grovel to putler is an even more grievous insult to Ukraine than anything these two turds came up with so far.

I wonder if they would be so gleeful at Trump’s statements if they knew how uneducated that guy sounds like. Anyone with at least 10th-grade education looks down on Trump for his poor grammar. It’s clear that they have a complete moron rooting for them, besides a criminal and sexual pervert.

Exactly the opposite. Trump is a representative of the Trump-MAGA personality cult, the most uneducated, selfish, and gullible Americans, all of whom suffer from the Trump con and pro-Russian propaganda. It’s embarrassing how many there are and how they scream at Trump like little girls at a Beatles concert.
I think you’ve got it right. Unfortunately , being a life long Republican, many merge the MAGA idiots with republicans which is not right. I agree with your general description of MAGA and could probably add a few more adjectives and adverbs. I’m also guilty of merging the hard left with democrats, which is unfair to dems as many dems don’t lean that hard left.
