Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin is “ready for negotiations.”
Peskov said this in a comment to CNN reporters .
According to the Kremlin spokesman, “Putin has always demanded negotiations and diplomacy.”
“In fact, he initiated the issue of security guarantees for the Russian Federation. And Ukraine is only part of the problem, it is part of the larger problem of security guarantees for Russia, and of course President Putin is ready to negotiate,” he said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told Putin he sees a “chance” for diplomatic dialogue with the West on Russia’s security issues, saying he recommends continuing such efforts.
Recall, Lavrov also said that Russia is dissatisfied with the first part of the US response on “security guarantees.” Moscow’s response to the West’s proposal has already been formulated on 10 pages.
According to him, Washington’s response consists of two parts.
