While Ukrainian drones and missiles are setting the enemy’s rear areas ablaze, the Kremlin is quietly launching a mass mobilization of reservists. Through electronic registries and summonses supposedly issued to “update personal information,” Russia is recruiting new cannon fodder while publicly denying that any mobilization is taking place.

Meanwhile, EU countries have finally abandoned their rose-tinted view of the situation and are preparing to repel a potential Russian invasion. They are building defensive lines on NATO’s eastern flank, setting records for military spending, and shifting their armed forces onto a wartime footing.
