The US Department of State said that the Kremlin misread US President Donald Trump’s patience to end russia’s war against Ukraine, and now “the time for misinterpretations is over.”
This was stated on July 29 by US Department of State spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, Ukrinform reports.
“He (Trump – ed.) has been patient, and that was probably misunderstood by some people. So I think the time for misinterpretations is over,” she said.
The US Department of State spokeswoman recalled that the President spoke about imposing sanctions, as well as secondary sanctions “because certain countries benefit from buying russian oil.”
She noted that the President has the authority to impose such restrictions, and this decision depends on him.
“Obviously, President Trump has proven that he should be taken seriously, because he is a serious person, and we are seeing the results of this around the world,” Bruce added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin has 10 days to cease fire in Ukraine. Otherwise, Washington will impose promised tariffs against Moscow.
On July 28, the US President said that he had set a new deadline of 10-12 days for russia to make progress in reaching a peace agreement with Ukraine.
Earlier in July, Trump said that he was ready to introduce “tough economic measures” if the russian dictator does not begin to demonstrate real steps to end the war.
Also, the day before, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said that putin had seriously miscalculated with Trump, and countries that support the russian military machine will soon “pay a long-overdue price.”
