Kolomoisky stated that he is confident in the return of Privatbank

Oligarch Igor Kolomoisky is confident that the lawsuits against the nationalization of Privatbank in 2016 will end in favor of former shareholders.

He stated this in an interview with Ukrainian Pravda.

“I’m just sure we’ll get it back. If everything is fair and honest, we have to get it back,” Kolomoisky said.

According to the businessman, he hoped for a speedy resolution of the issue after the defeat of Petro Poroshenko in the 2019 presidential election.

“We hoped that Petya (Petro Poroshenko, ed.) Would leave and justice would win quickly. But she did not win. Three years have passed. But we hope for the best,” the oligarch said.

At the same time, Kolomoisky called the so-called “anti-Kolomoisky” law, which stipulates the impossibility of returning the bank to the ownership of shareholders, “unconstitutional bullshit.”

It will be recalled that Privatbank was nationalized in December 2016. The state recapitalized it by UAH 155 billion. A Kroll investigation revealed that Privatbank had been “the subject of large-scale and coordinated fraud for at least ten years before nationalization, leading to a bank loss of at least $ 5.5 billion.”Source:
