Kim set goals to strengthen military potential and stressed the need to increase the psychological resilience of North Korean

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held a key political meeting where he vowed to pursue the “toughest” anti-American policies.

As the Associated Press reports, citing the North Korean news agency KCNA, at a meeting of party and government officials it was decided that North Korea would launch the “most severe” strategy to counter the US for the sake of its security and national interests.

At the same time, Kim called the US “the most reactionary state that considers anti-communism its unchangeable state policy.” Kim said that the security partnership between the US, South Korea and Japan is turning into a “nuclear military bloc for aggression.”

“This reality clearly shows which direction we should move in, what to do and how to do it,” KCNA quoted Kim as saying.

The agency did not specify what the anti-American strategy was. But it said Kim had set goals to strengthen military capabilities by developing defense technologies and stressed the need to improve the psychological resilience of North Korean soldiers.

As the AP notes, Donald Trump’s return to the White House raises the prospects for renewed diplomacy with North Korea. During his first term, Trump met with Kim three times to negotiate over North Korea’s nuclear program. However, many experts believe a quick resumption of relations is unlikely, as Trump will first focus on conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. North Korea’s support for Russia’s war against Ukraine also poses a challenge to efforts to renew diplomacy, experts say.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that, according to preliminary data, the number of killed and wounded North Korean soldiers in Kursk region may exceed 3 thousand. It is also known that  the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured several DPRK soldiers , but they soon died as a result of their wounds.

Earlier, the media reported that  North Korea could have transferred  Pukguksong-2 ballistic missiles, which are known as KN-15 in the American classification, to the Russian Federation. However, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense called this information fake .
