North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said that his country is ready to “unconditionally support” all of Moscow’s actions in the war in Ukraine, CNN writes , citing reports from North Korean media.

Kim met with Lavrov in the eastern coastal city of Wonsan, during which the parties reaffirmed further cooperation under a partnership agreement signed last year, which includes a mutual defense pact.

“Kim Jong-un confirmed the readiness of the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) to unconditionally support and encourage all measures taken by the Russian leadership to eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis,” North Korea’s state news agency reported.

The publication recalls that Lavrov’s visit comes at a critical moment for Russian-North Korean relations. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Pyongyang plans to send an additional 25,000 to 30,000 troops to support Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine.

“This trip could further strengthen an alliance capable of changing not only the course of the war but also the security dynamics in Asia,” the article notes.

Russia has also become dependent on North Korea for additional weapons. Training manuals for North Korean artillery have been translated into Russian, indicating both the widespread distribution of these weapons and the growing interoperability between Moscow and Pyongyang’s armed forces.

Meanwhile, satellite images obtained by CNN show cargo planes and transport ships plying between North Korea and Russia, indicating large-scale military logistics between the two countries.

North Korea and Russia

Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated that North Korea is currently supplying Russia with up to 40% of the ammunition for the war with Ukraine . According to him, the Kim Jong-un regime is sending Russia, in particular, ballistic missiles and artillery systems.

In addition, it was reported that North Korea plans to send a new batch of military personnel to Russia, numbering up to 30,000 soldiers. This could happen as early as July or August.

  2. Stalin would be turning in his grave at the thought of a russian leader grovelling to a country that he barely acknowledged. That’s how far mafia land have fallen under putler.
