In the Russian Federation, during the election campaign that took place in September, more than 300 deputy mandates were awarded to participants in the war against Ukraine . “We can explain” writes about this .

The publication talked about the “heroes” that stood out the most. For example, Andriy Shakulov, a young careerist from the “Young Guard of United Russia”, was elected to the Cheboksary City Council as a “merited veteran” with 61% of the vote.

“Shakulov stayed at the front for only 4 months in the “tick-tock squad” of State Duma deputy Shablin. After that, according to his own admission, he “completed his service” – although all contracts during the SVO are open-ended, and the mobilized are not allowed to go home,” the journalists note.

Also, the ex-commander of the Yugra battalion, Dmytro Aksyonov, became a deputy of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. According to the publication, before the war, he worked in the same Duma as the head of the organizational support department, and in November 2022, Aksyonov’s subordinate soldiers shouted “on camera” that they “want blood and will kill.”

In the Tomsk City Duma, Serhiy Sechenov, a participant in the wars in Syria and Ukraine, took the place of Navalny’s supporter Andriy Fateyev, who was forced to leave Russia at the end of 2021, as a case of extremism was brought against him. In one of his interviews, Sechenov claimed that Ukraine was allegedly planning to invade Russia in February 2022 and would use biological weapons. Similar statements were used by the Nazis during the Second World War during the invasion of European countries and the USSR.

Another “hero of the SVO”, Yuriy Novopoltsev, got into the Salekhard city council, but he will not be able to participate in the meetings, because he is going back to the front.

“During the elections, he took a vacation and came to his hometown. Local politicians assumed that the newly elected deputy would join the meetings online. Three more active military personnel won the elections in the Irkutsk region,” the publication says.

Elections in the Russian Federation: what is known

On the single voting day of September 8, 2024, election campaigns of various levels were held in the Russian Federation, including by-elections to the State Duma, elections of 25 heads of federation subjects (21 direct and 4 through voting in parliament), elections of deputies of legislative bodies of state power in 13 sub objects of the Russian Federation and many elections at the municipal level.

It will be recalled that the State Duma announced when Russian women should start giving birth . As United Russia deputy Zhanna Ryabtseva stated on OTV, Russian women should start having children at the age of 18-19 and create families while studying at the institute, because the best families are student families.
