In Bucha, Kiev region, they will say goodbye to the commander of the ” ghosts of Kiev “, Colonel Mikhail Matyushenko.
This was announced by the mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedoruk on Facebook .
According to him, Mikhail Matyushenko died heroically while performing a combat mission on June 26 in an air battle over the Black Sea.
He was able to conduct a night fight on an L-39 training aircraft against two Russian Su-30s. Having learned about the irretrievable losses of trained bomber crews, Matyushenko went to the southern and eastern fronts.
“For Mikhail Matyushenko, this was the last mission. He did not return from the next flight, and they were looking for him for a long time. Today he leaves home, to Bucha. Let’s adequately meet and see off the Defender, who gave his life for us and for Ukraine. The farewell will take place on Monday, October 3 at 14:00, on the Alley of Heroes in Bucha – at the cemetery along Deputatskaya Street, 1,” Fedoruk said.
