The thermal power plant suffered serious damage, with the premises and equipment of the plant being damaged.

The Kherson Thermal Power Plant has suspended operations due to severe damage caused by enemy air strikes . 470 homes are without heat, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Anti-Corruption Police Department.

According to him, over the past few days, Russian occupiers have been intensively attacking the Kherson Thermal Power Plant, using drones, artillery, and other weapons.

“The entirely civilian facility that provided heat to the city’s residents suffered serious damage: the station’s premises and equipment were damaged. Because of this, the thermal power plant’s operations have been suspended. Terrorists are once again waging war against civilians,” he stated.

According to Prokudin, 470 homes – more than 40,500 subscribers – were left without heat.

The head of the OVA added that, in light of the situation, he is convening an operational meeting to consider alternative heating options for those buildings connected to the combined heat and power plant.

“We are simultaneously negotiating with partners to provide Kherson residents with electric heaters and other heating equipment,” the official noted.

Prokudin reminded that “Invincibility Points” remain open in the city, where people can warm up, charge their phones, and contact family.
