The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized that Ukraine has more than enough forces and means to defend Kharkiv.

Kharkiv will be protected in the event of an invasion by the troops of the Russian Federation, drawn up to the borders of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said this after a visiting meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in Kharkiv.

“I can say that Kharkov will be protected. And it will be necessary, in the event, as you say, of the Russian invasion. I just don’t understand why the Russians need those chores called “our country”? Believe me, we will not give anything to anyone “We don’t need someone else’s, but we won’t give up our own. And they know this very well. They are familiar with the position of our citizens that we will fight for our own. I emphasize once again: we are on our own land, we are not taking the territory of the Russian Federation We have never attacked anyone for the entire time of the existence of our country, but we will not give our own to anyone,” Danilov emphasized.

He added that there are “more than enough” forces and means for protection thanks to the assistance that Ukraine will receive from Western partners.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on January 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the opinion that an attempt by the Russian Federation troops to occupy Kharkiv would be the beginning of a large-scale war. Reacting to the president’s statement, Kharkiv declared that they were ready to repulse a potential invader.

Later, the SBU reported that more than 10 scenarios had been worked out in the Kharkiv region in case of a Russian attack.
