Power engineers are establishing the extent of the damage and are working to restore the networks.

Due to the strikes of the Russian invaders in the Kharkiv region, the region is completely de-energized. People will have to remain without electricity at least until the morning. 

According to Oleg Sinegubov , head of the Kharkiv OVA, the Russian occupiers inflicted two strikes on Kharkiv with S300 missiles and four strikes on the Chuguevsky district of the region.

According to him, power engineers are establishing the extent of damage and are working to restore networks. In addition, emergency services are working in an enhanced mode, since there are cases of stopping elevators with people inside.

“There is virtually no power supply in the settlements of the region. Accordingly, there are interruptions in water and heat supply. It is difficult to make forecasts, but it is most likely that people will have to remain without electricity, at least until the morning. But we are working to supply electricity as soon as possible” , – Sinegubov emphasized.

Rocket attack on Ukraine: the situation with electricity

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Russian invaders launched a massive missile attack on the regions of Ukraine. Basically, they hit critical infrastructure facilities. 

NPC Ukrenergo noted that the most difficult situation is observed in the northern and central regions. They introduced full emergency shutdowns for all categories of consumers, and in Kyiv they introduced special schedules for emergency shutdowns.

In addition,   90% of the Ternopil region has been de-energized due to massive rocket fire. There, as in other regions, emergency power outages have been introduced.

Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko stressed that Russia had carried out the most massive shelling of the Ukrainian energy system since the beginning of the war. He added that this attack could have an impact not only on the energy system of Ukraine, but also on the energy systems of some neighboring countries.
