Megan Mobbs, the daughter of Donald Trump’s special representative Keith Kellogg, commented on the Verkhovna Rada’s adoption of bill No. 12414 on the de facto elimination of the independence of the NABU and the SAPO.
She wrote about this on the social network X, reports Censor.NET .
“This decision is truly, incredibly, stunningly stupid. It was made at the worst possible time, given the recent positive changes in US policy,” Kellogg’s daughter stressed.
Mobbs added that this law “provides a strong argument for bad actors.”
Searches at NABU and SAPO
It was previously reported that on July 21, 2025, NABU employees were subject to investigative actions without court orders , which were carried out by employees of the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Subsequently, the SBU reported that one of the heads of the interregional departments of NABU detectives, Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, was exposed for doing business with Russia .
The Security Service announced the exposure of the current People’s Deputy from the OPZZH, Fedor Khrystenko . He is suspected of treason. According to law enforcement officials, he worked to strengthen Russian influence on the NABU.
The Security Service of Ukraine also came to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office .
People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the Rada, at its meeting on July 22, wants to subordinate the NABU to the Prosecutor General . Shabunin, commenting on draft law No. 12414, noted that Zelensky is destroying the key anti-corruption achievements of the Revolution of Dignity.
The NABU and SAPO emphasized that amendments were made to draft law No. 12414 at the last moment, which actually destroy the independence of the SAPO and subordinate the activities of the NABU and SAPO to the Prosecutor General.
On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill 12414, which eliminates the independence of the NABU and the SAPO .

Agreed. For context, the independence of the NABU was originally a requirement by the IMF in order to help Ukraine in 2014.
The SAPO is already under the Prosecutor General’s office.
On the surface this looks like a paranoid power grab that has the feel of the Siloviki. I believe the EU is also very strict about an independent judiciary so this scuffle better be stopped asap, imo.
Poland received a lot of criticism from the EU when they undermined their judiciary. This move by Kyiv could be worse.
