This was demanded in the Kremlin.

US President Donald Trump’s special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, has been excluded from peace talks.

NBC News reported this, citing a representative of the Trump administration and an official from the Russian Federation.

According to journalists, Kellogg was removed at the request of the Kremlin because of his “too pro-Ukrainian position.”

Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg was “noticeably absent” from two recent summits in Saudi Arabia (with Russia and Ukraine), even though the talks were within his purview.

“Kellogg is a former American general who is too close to Ukraine. He is not our type of person, not the caliber we are looking for,” the source told NBC News.

The fact that Russia did not want to involve Kellogg in the negotiation process was confirmed by an unnamed representative of the American administration.

At the same time, Kellogg’s office did not respond to a request for comment on why he did not participate in the talks and whether Russia asked him not to participate.
