The European Union has already fulfilled 80% of its obligations to supply Ukraine with two million pieces of artillery ammunition.

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, in a speech to the European Parliament on September 9.

“We aim to reach 100% by October. And all this so that Ukraine can defend itself, its civilians and repel aggression,” Kallas emphasized.

In addition to ammunition, the EU has already trained about 80,000 Ukrainian servicemen.

Kallas noted that the EU is the largest training partner of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is working to expand the mission’s mandate to be able to conduct training directly on the territory of Ukraine.

As part of a parallel Czech initiative, Ukraine has already received one million large-caliber ammunition. This was previously announced by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who emphasized the effectiveness of the allies’ joint efforts.

European defense companies are also actively increasing their production capacity. According to European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius, by the end of 2025, the production of ammunition in Europe will increase from 300,000 to two million units per year.
