According to Scholz, Germany’s position also applies to any other weapon that is capable of attacking targets at a long distance.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently confirmed that Berlin would not hand over Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine due to the “great risk of escalation.” Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson criticized Scholz and called for a reconsideration of his position.
“We definitely need the Taurus, that’s for sure. Given Germany’s history, you can understand Scholz, but now we have to take a clear stand at this crucial stage,” Johnson told the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.
At the same time, Scholz said Germany’s position also applies to any other weapon that can attack targets at long range. He stressed that this would remain the case even if other countries decided otherwise.
This is not the first time Boris Johnson has made allegations against the chancellor. In 2022, he told CNN: “The German view at one point was that it would be better if it ended quickly and Ukraine gave in.”
Then a German government spokesman responded harshly that “the very entertaining former prime minister always has his own relationship with the truth.”
Permission to strike on the territory of the Russian Federation
Ukraine has long been asking its Western allies for permission to strike military targets deep inside Russian territory with their weapons . Now this discussion has flared up with renewed vigor. The leaders of some European countries, as well as Canada, have stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should receive this permission.
Welt wrote that Scholz flatly refused to give permission for strikes against the Russian Federation with German weapons.
As UNIAN reported, US President Joe Biden may allow Ukraine to use British and French Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles to strike Russia, but not American ATACMS.
The Guardian points out that the US and UK have given permission for strikes on Russia , but this is not being announced.
The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, noted that Ukraine has a firm legal and military right to strike targets on the territory of the Russian Federation .

No, there can’t be any understanding Scholz. Ukraine suffered the greatest human losses in percentage of its population in WWII, and the destruction was also greater than in mafia land. It’s this history that should move Germany to do the only right thing; help Ukraine in every way possible.
I’m glad that Boris is giving that coward a piece of his mind.
