JD Vance and the Meaning of “Proud”
JD Vance says that cutting support to Ukraine is
“one of the things I’m proudest of.”
Proud.
Ukraine is under full-scale invasion.
This is not a technical decision.
Not a temporary adjustment.
It is a position.
Because when stepping back from a country under attack is framed as something to be proud of,
the signal is clear.
Not ambiguous.
Not nuanced.
Clear.
And signals like that do not stay contained.
They travel.
With this statement the current US administration is as far from leaders of the democratic world as they have ever been. JD Vance might be even worse than Trump.
JD Vance tried to help Orban. Failed miserably. My hope is that JD Vance keeps thinking people like him. His endorsements creates losers.

What is this actually about? Trump and Vance are acting directly against US interests.
If Ukraine falls (unlikely, given their innovation and the progress they seem to be making in the war)—but hypothetically, if Ukraine were to fall, Russia would be knocking on the door of the Baltic states. In the worst-case scenario, this leads to a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. How can this be in the interest of the US?
There must be advisors who have pointed this out to Trump and Vance countless times! I just don’t understand. Could it be about something as banal as the fact that Zelenskyy is liked and respected, while Trump, on the other hand, is loathed by so many people? He is seen as an imbecilic, overweight character who knows nothing about anything. This makes Trump angry, and he wants to get back at Zelenskyy.

Ukraine bleeds. America steps back. JD Vance is proud. Good. At least Europe knows exactly whom to treat as “persona non grata.”
JD and Trump are directly responsible for Ukrainian deaths by stopping to support them. And JD is even proud of it. These people should be voted out.

Never ever in the history of Human governments, has so much ignorance been seen in the hands of so few, wielding so much power affecting the lives of so many.” The Trump/Vance government has given the term ”Kakistocracy” a point of reference for the historians of the future.
