Indeed these thingies are better than F-16’s but they are unavailable.
Maybe in a few years they can be bought but then they are less needed.
Let’s focus on F-16’s now and stop talking about any other platform.
This entire aircraft affair is so preposterous, wacky, absurd, ludicrous, bizarre, and shitty.
No. It’s FUCKED UP. TOTALLY FUBAR!
Gripen are a good fit for Ukraine. They can operate from short or improvised runways and in poor conditions. This is how Ukraine saved it’s migs and sukois. F16’s are finicky about ingesting debris and need a long runway. However, F16s were produced in large numbers, airframes and parts are relatively inexpensive for a western system, and have a lot of capabilities for weapons and systems. So, while some Gripens would be welcome, but F16s will probably constitute the bulk, if I read the tea leaves of Ukraine’s public statements correctly.
