A remarkably restrained response from the prof. He had been repeatedly warning about what a Trump administration would do if it got power and it’s now worse than he envisioned.
Robin Horsfall today reposted an article he wrote on 7 December 2023 about the aid block. Here is just a paragraph:
“The Republican Party of the USA wants a Russian victory in Ukraine.
Those who follow my posts regularly will recall my warnings about the Republican party in the USA. I said that they were the greatest threat to a Ukrainian victory and yesterday they proved without any doubt that is the case. The MAGA party operating under the control of an indicted ‘would be dictator’ voted down a military aid package that would allow Ukraine to confidently continue to defend itself…”
The effects of the aid block were devastating; the defenders never fully recovered from it and lost a terrible number of their finest as a result. What is indisputable is that they would be in very much better shape right now if it had not happened. It is to be noted also that disgracefully, the allies in Europe and elsewhere made no attempt whatsoever to plug the gap.
