“It’s like giving the floor to Hitler in 1944”: Kuleba – about Putin’s interview with Carlson

According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the head of the Russian Federation “needs to be defeated, and not helped to spread bloodthirsty lies.”

The world should not spread the “crazy propaganda” of Russian President Vladimir Putin . Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba made such a call, commenting on the X interview of the Russian leader with American journalist Tucker Carlson on the social network .

He recalled that the interview was distributed the day before the deadly missile strike on Kharkov, which killed seven people – in particular, three children.

“The Russians burned alive a paralyzed man and his wife, as well as an entire family of five: young parents, their children aged four and seven, and a newborn. An interview with Putin in 2024 is like giving the floor to Hitler in 1944. His we need to win, and not help spread bloodthirsty lies,” Kuleba emphasized.

Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson

The other day, Russian leader Vladimir Putin gave an interview to a Western journalist for the first time since the beginning of the war . He spoke with American journalist Tucker Carlson, who opposes American aid to Ukraine.

In an interview, Putin, in particular, said that  the Russian Federation did not start a war in Ukraine in 2022 , “did not refuse negotiations,” and that “Russia and Ukraine will come to an agreement sooner or later.”

Subsequently, Russian and American journalists cursed Carlson . They called him a propagandist and said he was not a journalist.

  1. Kuleba’s right, but that isn’t an important issue that he should deal with personally. He should better be in the US, flattering Republican representatives to try to persuade them of supporting Ukraine. Also, he should fire ambassador to the US Markarova, who’s not doing enough, if anything, to get into media and make the case for more deliveries. She shouldn’t be on Ukrainian TV, in a telethon, but on US one!

      • Maybe. He had been on German media every other day, indeed. Sadly, he couldn’t manage to keep up a polite, diplomatic tone. All in all, he did more harm than good, by insulting the very people from whom he demanded support. Failure!
However, since he’s in Brazil, he’s keeping a very low profile, apparently. I checked several Brazilean media sites recently, hardly any mention of him there.
So, he’s can be a very active spokesperson, but can he behave in a way that helps Ukraine? That’s the unsolved question.

        • He has my mentality. He always talks straight without sparing anybody. He is very sensible and always had ukrainian lives in his mind.

          • A straight talker, indeed, but that’s not how a diplomat should behave. So, sorry, Mike, but I don’t think you would be well suited for an ambassador job! Me, neither. That’s for guys who are better at biting their tongue. 😁
