The fire area reached 4000 meters.

In Russia, a large-scale fire occurred in one of the workshops of the Uralmashzavod machine-building enterprise; the fire area has already reached 4,000 meters.

According to the Shot telegram channel , the fire occurred in factory workshop No. 57, which contained about 500 liters of varnish. At the same time, the publication E1.ru , citing its sources, claims that a transformer production workshop caught fire. There are seven thousand liters of oil inside. 

Also, at first, the plant’s press service stated that an object “that does not belong to Uralmashzavod and is located far from UZTM production facilities” caught fire, and nothing threatened the plant’s workshops. However, they later admitted that the fire occurred on the territory of the plant.

Eyewitnesses also report that something first exploded at the plant, and then black smoke poured out.

PJSC “Uralmashzavod” is a machine-building enterprise in Yekaterinburg. The plant was put into operation in 1933. It produces equipment for the mining complex, metallurgy, cement industry, energy industry, handling and transport and other equipment.
