The Financial Guard of Italy has seized the residential property of Russian oligarch and owner of “Severstal” Alexei Mordashov in Sardinia worth 105 million euros.

This was reported by Reuters in the office of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Deutsche Welle reports .

It is noted that the seizure of property took place in the framework of EU and US sanctions imposed due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops.

In 2012, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that Mordashov had bought a villa on the country’s most expensive coast, the Costa Smeralda, in Sardinia. According to the press, the deal amounted to 110 million euros. He has also owned a mansion in the Gulf of Cugnana in Sardinia since 2011, bought for 13 million euros.

Thus, Mordashov loses his property in Italy for the second time in a month.

As reported, on March 4, a 65-meter yacht Lady M belonging to Mordashov was arrested. Its value is estimated at 65 million euros.

In all, Italian police have seized more than 780 million euros worth of villas and yachts from seven Russian oligarchs and Putin’s accomplices on the sanctions list over the past two weeks. Among them are Alisher Usmanov, Volodymyr Solovyov, Hennadiy Tymchenko, Oleg Savchenko, Petro Aven, Andriy Melnychenko. The most valuable asset arrested in Italy today is the yacht of billionaire Andriy Melnychenko. It costs about 530 million euros.
