According to Alexander Kovalenko, the enemy is in dire need of equipment.

The increase in the number of the Russian Armed Forces by Russian ruler Vladimir Putin is evidence of the enemy’s problems in the war with Ukraine – it lacks human resources, with which it is trying to compensate for the lack of equipment. This was stated in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine by military-political expert of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko.

He noted that after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, this can be called traditional actions – the Russians regularly increase the total number of troops.

“This only highlights the fact that they are having problems in the war with Ukraine because they lack human resources, which are becoming the main resource as the amount of equipment is decreasing,” Kovalenko said.

According to him, the Russians are trying to compensate for each piece of equipment with a corresponding amount of human resources, and this is precisely why they are increasing the size of the army.

“In the future, the Russian army will turn into a large marching battalion, which will consist mainly of infantry with a very small amount of equipment. Because they already have almost no production of their own – there is restoration, but no production,” the expert said.

He stressed that the Kremlin wants to mobilize more people, but “people are not coming.”

“Even now, to mobilize voluntarily, they offer 2 million rubles. And they have these problems with mobilization now, and in the future it will be a more repressive format, because no one wants to join their army,” Kovalenko summed up.

Increase in the size of the Russian army

On Monday, September 16, Russian leader Vladimir Putin increased the number of the Russian Armed Forces. According to his decree, the staffing level of the Russian Armed Forces will increase to 2 million 389 thousand people, including 1.5 million military personnel.

According to Putin’s decree last year, the number of military personnel in the Russian Federation was 1,320,000 people.
