Eyewitnesses observed a military helicopter following the drone.
The military shot down a Russian attack drone over the industrial zone of the Belarusian city of Gomel , which was likely flying to attack Ukraine, the Belarusian publication Flagstock reported .
“Flagshtok learned that during the flight of Russian-Iranian drones over Gomel, the Belarusian military managed to shoot down at least one drone. This happened on the morning of February 26 over the western industrial outskirts of Gomel. That morning, eyewitnesses observed that a military helicopter was following the UAV. At some point, the drone began to fall,” the report says.
It is assumed that the drone was hit by small arms fire from a helicopter. According to media reports, at least five Shahed-136 (“Geranium”) drones flew over Gomel that morning.
“These were probably Russian drones that were supposed to attack Ukraine, but for some reason strayed from the original route,” the media suggests.
